Diablo 4 Glyphs Guide

Feb-19-2024 PST
Welcome to the guide for Diablo 4, where we will discuss Glyphs. In this guide, we will explain what Glyphs are and how they can be utilized and enhanced.

Understanding Glyphs

Glyphs are endgame advantages that can be inserted into a Paragon Board to provide additional bonuses to the player. Glyphs start dropping after completing the first Capstone Dungeon and gaining access to Tier 3. However, they become available once you reach level 50. After acquiring a few Paragon Points, you can purchase an empty Glyph Socket on your first Paragon Board and select a Glyph to insert into it. This choice is not permanent and can be changed at any time.

Once you have selected a Glyph from your available roster, it will be added to the socket and apply its respective effect.

Enhancing Glyph Effects

Many Glyphs have perks that scale based on the nearby perks you have selected in the vicinity of the Glyph socket. For instance, the "Charged" Glyph provides a 3.5% increased damage to Crackling Energy for every 5 Intelligence purchased within a certain range of the Glyph Socket. You can determine the radius at which these scaled perks will be boosted by hovering over the socketed Glyph and looking for a red node outline surrounding it.

In addition to their base perk, Glyphs offer additional bonuses that are only activated if specific requirements are met. For example, the "Charged" Glyph grants an additional 15% damage bonus if you purchase 40 Intelligence within the Glyph's radius.

Upgrading Glyphs

Glyphs can be upgraded to increase their effects by completing Nightmare Dungeons. At the end of each Nightmare Dungeon, an Awakened Glyph will appear with a protective bubble shield. By interacting with it, you can allocate XP earned from the Nightmare Dungeon to the Glyph of your choice. Once a Glyph has accumulated enough XP, it will level up and gain stronger effects.

Glyphs can be upgraded even while they are currently socketed, which will immediately enhance any effects that are currently applied. If you upgrade a Glyph that is not socketed, you will not see the benefits applied to your character until it is inserted into a socket and all conditions for it have been met.
